stolečky ročních období

Mám novou posedlost, stolečky ročních období, které vycházejí z waldorfské pedagogiky. Děti si s rodiči doma připraví takové místo, kde si v průběhu roku mění panáčky a další věci podle konkrétního ročního období. S trochu fantazie si s tím jde krásně pohrát. Mohou se donést přírodniny z venku, nebo vyrobit něco doma. Moc se mi tenhle nápad líbí, už jsem ho viděla doma u přátel, ale nikdy jsem to nezkusila sama.

panáčci podruhé

Už mám hotové tři panáčky :). Čím dál víc se mi líběj takhle nahatý. Nejsou to miláčci?
Jinak mám pocit, že jsem už úplně zapomněla malovat normálním štětcem, jak teď pořád kreslím v tom počítači.

panáčci ze dřeva

Koupila jsem si před pár týdny v bazaru čtyři dřevěné části něčeho, co prý jsou koncovky na garnýže na záclony. Měli tam jen čtyři a hned mě napadlo, že by z toho mohlo jít něco zajímavého vyrobit. Jedna stála jen 5Kč. Dneska jsem vyrobila první figurku. Původně jsem je chtěla obarvit celé, ale když jsem udělala hlavu, zbytek se mi líbí dřevěný tak jak je. Půjdu na to teda minimalisticky. Červená vypadá nalakovaná moc pěkně, uvidíme jak dopadnou další čepičky. Možná bych je mohla dát taky na výstavu, když se povedou. Čtyři skřítci.

Tak a je to tu, rozhodla jsem se po delším váhání psát česky. Nějak mi ta angličtina už nešla přes zobák. Stejně jsou tu hlavní obrázky a fotky a možná mi psaní bude teď dělat větší radost.
Mám hotovou novou panenku! Je pro kamarádku Janu. Poprvé jsem zkusila jí dát tyhle rezaté vlasy a moc se mi to líbí. Mám v plánu tři další panenky - trochu větši. A mám o nich dost přesnou představu, tak uvidíme, jak to dopadne.

I decided to continue to write in Czech. I was thinking about this change for a while and finally made up my mind. I just didn´t really feel myself at English and couldn´t always tell what I wanted.

It´s finished! It took me ridiculously long time to make it, but to defend myself I have to say I had a baby in the meantime! :)

an award for me

I got an award! From the fine girls Lavender and Hana. Thank you ladies, I was very happy to hear this :). I´m not going to nominate anyone, because I don´t really read a lot of blogs. These days I find very little time to sit by the computer, and then I look at three or four blogs I like and know for a long time and that´s it. I don´t feel like I could find anything new for someone out there...

In other news, I´m cleaning up a room for Marie and I´m happy she likes to be in the room a lot. I just don´t know if she´s willing to sleep there. So far, she sleeps downstairs and the spare room is upstairs... It´s a bit of a hassle to walk upstairs for both me and her in the evening. I can´t decide when to put her bed upstairs. Before the baby is born would be probably a better time...
Aaand the baby! My belly is so huge; people keep telling me, wow, you belly is so huge, I had no idea this can get that big! :) Yeah, and for me, it´s pretty difficult. I can´t wait for the baby to be out (but at the same time I need some time before it´s born to organize few things...). My clothes are all almost too small, I have almost nothing to wear now. Well, something over a month to go.

I saw these wooden dolls somewhere on Pinterest recently, and remembered seeing them in a shop in Prague many years ago. I love them! They are 40cm high and there are two kinds: armless and naked, and in wooden dresses with arms. Unfortunately, they are very expensive, I could never afford one. I would buy the naked one and make her a fabric dress...

cold and dark

Oh, how bad I feel in the weather we have here now. Outside it´s cold and dark, and inside... well, we don ´t get much warmth either :). At least not in the whole apartment. The weather is also changing quite a lot, which probably causes me several health problems with my blood pressure and headache. But, it seems like it´s the perfect time to watch some old Aki Kaurismäki movies! We saw Ariel, Hold your scarf, Tatiana and Drifting clouds, and I loved all of them. Funny and depressing at the same time. I borrowed some books (again) and started to attempt crocheting (again), and the results so far are not very good. I find myself unraveling all the time... But I really want to make a winter hat for Marie, so I keep trying. I made two new dolls, but I´m showing only one of them, because the other one didn´t turn out as I wished... Hmm, maybe next time I´ll do better. I´m looking forward to Christmas a lot, but I´m also nervous concerning the presents. What are you buying or making to your dear ones? For Marie it´s pretty easy, of course, but presents for men are the toughtest! Share your ideas, if you know already :).
Sorry to those I didn´t respond to in the comments... Thanks to all your comments and kind words! I´m just lately not really able to respond to everyone, as I still don´t feel very well and sometimes try to stay off the computer :).

more doll photos

So, I decided that the middle one is MINE. :) She´s sitting on the piano and looking gorgeous. The red haired one is standing on the wardrobe in Marie´s room and the blond one (who is broken) was given to Marie to play with, for now. I plan to repair her and replace the leg with a fabric stuffed leg, I think.

new old doll!

Look what I got! A friend gave me three old porcelain dolls and this is one of them. I love it so much, I have never owned anything so special, interesting, old (or at least old-looking, I don´t know how old it really is), romantic, cute and creepy! :) The other two are not so special, they are nice too, but they are more ordinary looking, I may take a photo of the them some day. One of the dolls is broken; I would like to repair it, but I don´t know how yet (I have to replace a leg). But this one is so gorgeous, under the dress there is some kind of blouse I think, but I haven´t examined it properly yet. Her hair is a mess, someone tried to dye it and it´s ruined and falling apart. It´s darkish green now and looking awful, let´s see if I can do something about it. I suspect the doll is really quite old, as it´s made much better than the newer ones - the body construction and all.

Three sisters (finally!)

I´m so glad I´m finished with my Three sisters dolls, inspired by A. P. Chekhov´s play Three sisters. They are: Olga, Masha and Irina. I didn´t know much about the play when I started making them, but then I became more interested and decided to read the play - so I´m reading it right now :). Maybe to listen to it would be better...? Anyway, I really like to be inspired by literature or films to create my dolls... I have already few ideas for other ones. I like how these three turned out, and I tried to be a little bit more precise: the skirts have french seams and the tops are carefully handsewn in place.
I´m also very inspired to sew clothes for Marie. I´m making red pants for her now, and I have several other pieces planned. I´m looking forward to sewing these small clothes: they can be made with small amount of fabric, are finished quickly and I´m not afraid to ruin it or to make a bad desicion like with my own clothes :).

Hello everyone! I´m pretty busy these days, working on new dolls for my shop. I´m making these sister dolls right now and I´m excited how will they turn out!
A friend also gave me a big box with some leather scraps, and I´m thinking about what to do with them.

Miss Button

I love buttons! They come in so many colours and shapes. It´s great for kids to play with and often I just like to think about the many ways I could use them, and how would they look with various fabrics. I made this doll recently and used some buttons for her body. The eyes are buttons, obviously (Coraline, anyone? :), but the mouth is a button too! I love that one. I wanted to make her hair out of yarn, but it was very time consuming that in the end I changed my mind and used felt instead. So quick and nice!

Frida

I´ve seated my Frida on the piano! It´s the perfect place for her :).

Frida doll finished!

I finished my Frida Kahlo doll! I´m so happy :). I´m a little bit obsessed by Frida and wanted to have one of my own :). This was so far my most difficult doll to make. The face took me a lot of time to paint. She´s quite tall (taller than my previous dolls), has high heels and red nails. And a tear... I bought the small female deer toy few days ago (I love deers), and then realized it´s perfect for Frida (she had a baby deer as a pet). The clothes are quite shabby... I tried to recreate the traditional mexican style dress, but the bodice was hard to sew.
I´ve been at a big Frida Kahlo exhibition in Wien last October, and it was so great. There were her dresses and jewellery on display, too, and I loved to see them! I´m a big fan of Kahlo´s paintings (and they inspire me at my own painting, too).
To make this doll I was mostly inspired by the wonderful Duh buh duh dolls, as well as some other artists all around the blogs. I´m not sure where to put her... the doll can be hanged, but I have to figure out the right place. I´m planning my next doll, but the sewing part is so discouraging. There is a lot of handsewing included, and it just doesen´t look right, when the dress is more complicated. But I´m very happy with the hair! There is a braid too, but can´t be seen very well.

New colours in our kitchen: green, orange, red. I like it (when it´s tidy...).
I´m amazed by this doll Nettie made, so lovely and I love all the details.
Crocheting is on my mind, I really really want to learn to crochet. I tried it few times already, but always ended up lost quite soon. Maybe I should get some book to help me...
